Chesterfield

The Chesterfield is a long-established classic. Among the many legends that surround its design origins, one of the more memorable is that the 19th Century Earl of Chesterfield asked for a sofa to be made for him in the House of Lords, in which he could comfortably recline with an open broadsheet newspaper.

Hotels, Golf Clubs, the British Army....

We have made new furniture for, and restored antiques on behalf of, many varied public and private organisations. Every single one of our chairs and sofas is individually hand-made using traditional techniques and craftsmanship.

Our walnut stain gives our leather a rich patina, which enhances the grain, blemishes and scars found in full grain, vegetable tanned hide. Every spring is hand-sewn into a solid Beechwood frame, and every nail is painstakingly hammered in by hand.

Not everyone can appreciate the distinctive finish of hand-dyed leather, but if you have the taste for a unique piece that will be treasured for generations, we will be delighted to help you.
